Larry graduated from University Of Kansas in 1985. In his 34 years practicing architecture, he has worked for three firms acting as VP / Principal-in-Charge. Larry has a wide range of experience in the design of schools, restaurants, medical facilities of various types, historical preservation, and retail. Larry particularly enjoys helping churches grow through the design process. He also serves as ministry leader for Celebrate Recovery at the Cove Church in Mooresville, NC.

Nathan graduated from UNC Charlotte, College of Architecture in 1999. Over the last five years, his project accomplishments include: the Starbucks specialty shops in Mooresville, NC; The Fresh Market in Columbia, SC; Brighton Square in Mint Hill, NC; and numerous local church projects, including Christ Church in Statesville, NC, where he attends. He and Larry Schaeffer have worked closely together for the past 19 years. (And yes…he’s counting.)

Franklin graduated from the University at Buffalo, New York in 2007 with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture. Upon graduation, he joined CSArch in Albany, New York, where he worked from May 2007 to March 2014 as an intern architect. He relocated to North Carolina to join Larry Schaeffer in 2014, where he worked closely with him as a project manager on numerous projects including churches, retail, offices, and restaurants. Project accomplishments include Kirkland’s specialty retail in Gastonia, NC and Refuge Ranch Church in Waxhaw, NC.

Ethan graduated from Mitchell Community College in May 2017. He serves as Schaeffer Design Associates’ automated systems developer. He’s “the man behind the scenes making it all happen!”
Amanda, a native of Statesville, NC, graduated from Catawba Valley Community College in 1995 with an Associates Degree in Architectural Technology. She is a Cad Tech/Drafter who has been supporting projects for Design Associates Inc. for the past 13 years.
